IEEE approved802.16m standard to be the next generation WiMAX network on April1,2011, that is, the birth of WiMAX-2network, which has become the4G technology standard together with LTE-Advanced.WiMAX-2network is still using MIMO, which can increase the transmission rate, coverage, and improve the system capacity through multi transmit and receive antennas. WiMAX-2network downlink data transmission rate can reach1Gbps when the network environment is good, and it also supports high data rate in mobile mode, high-speed mobile state can be maintained at about100Mbps.Multi base-station cooperation multi-user MIMO is added in WiMAX-2network, in order to mitigate the inter-cell interference, multi base-station cooperation technology has become an important mobile communication technology which4G must support.In order to simulate the multi base-station cooperation MIMO network, the thesis build a WiMAX-2simulation platform, which can provide static system-level simulation and can verify the algorithms in this thesis is effective and reasonable.For multi base-station cooperation MIMO downlink, the transmitter uses a pre-coding algorithm to pre-cancel interference. The thesis has done some simulation about the classic pre-coding algorithms, including the DPC, ZF, MMSE, BD algorithm, and then pre-coding algorithms are applied to a multi base-station cooperation network. The simulation result shows that JT-BD algorithm is the optimal linear pre-coding algorithm, then the thesis make JT-BD algorithm being together with the user selection technology to enhance the system capacity further more. That proves a good approximation of the DPC capacity domain, belonging to the excellent performance of the suboptimal solution.For multi base-station cooperation MIMO uplink, receiver uses linear joint detection algorithms to eliminate interference between inter-cell users. The thesis analyzed detection algorithms based on ZF criterion and MMSE criterion through simulation, and then combined them with serial interference cancellation technology. The simulation shows that, MMSE-SIC detection algorithm obtained the best system BER performance under the same circumstances. Then the thesis make MMSE-SIC detection algorithm combined with user selection technology, in order to enhance the system BER performance and throughput further.
