With the development of science and technology, human society has entered the information age. Based on the Ministry of Public Security’s statistics, the number of vehicles and drivers in China has grown rapidly over the past decade. Till October2012, the number of vehicles amounted to240million, motor vehicle drivers amounted to256million. Thus China has entered the "automobile society". For a variety of security issues and the demand for entertainment and value-added services, the research about vehicle communication has become a hot spot. Thus, VANET (Vehicular Ad hoc Network, VANET) came into being. Vehicles and roadside facilities are equipped with wireless communication devices. And vehicles can communicate with each other, so do the vehicles and the base stations. In order to establish an automatic connection of the mobile network, every vehicle works as both the transceiver and the router. However, the faster movement of nodes in VANET, severe morphological changes in the topology and the existence of various obstacles lead to the frequent breakage of links, the short communication and increase of end to end delay, so the network performance is not ideal. Thus, the design of routing protocols for VANET is essential.Meanwhile, the Social Network, as a special network, refers to the combination of a set of specific node or actors and the relationships established between them. It is mainly composed of human and other mobile equipment. Since the movement and communications of mobile nodes are controlled by human beings, their characteristics are in line with that of social networks. Therefore, we need to add a series of social considerations to the vehicle routing protocols, and the research about individual nodes and social structure has become a hot direction. For the measure of each node’s centrality and cognitive differences, this paper proposed a based centrality and cognitive differences AODV routing protocol improved CC_AODV routing protocol: Improved AODV Routing Protocol Based On Centrality and Cognitive Difference: 1. Taking into account that the communication between vehicle nodes and transmission of the information are all influenced by the surrounding people and environment with socialized characteristics, this paper first described the concept of centrality and cognitive difference, then details of the improved algorithm. It calculated the centrality by the ego networks and the frequency of the nodes’connection. Then it predicted cognitive differences by the known symbol and relationships between nodes. CC_AODV routing protocol integrate all above parameters into AODV routing protocol. Finally it analyzed the shortcomings and compensate that in chapter four.2. After considering the social characteristics, channel congestion, channel fierce competition happened in CC_AODV routing protocol and result in the issue of increased delay. Then this paper use RTS/CTS mechanism and the remaining bandwidth to further improve the performance and reduce the end to end delay. Thus the protocol could better meet the various needs of people.3. Then it made a brief introduction of simulation software NS2, and represented the simulation steps based on my own experiments. Finally, it built a simulated platform for AODV, Simbet and CC_AODV routing protocol and compared their performances. The results show that the performance of CC_AODV has been greatly improved.
