In recent years, digital image processing technology is developing rapidly,which brings not only great convenience to our life, but also many security risks. Theexisting technical means make local replacement, tampering and other illegal operati-ons easy to realize, which is harming private and public safeties. Some efficientalgorithm of image authentication must appear to solve it. Most of the existingalgorithm adopts fragile watermark or semi-fragile watermark, whoses resistance isnot strong enough aginst reasonable operation. It ignores the significance that theimage carries on itself to authentication.Firstly the development status of digital watermarking technology is summa-rized in this paper. And the research is focused on application of image authen-tication in transform domain. Secondly, the structure and corresponding features ofhuman visual perception system are analyzed. Visual equivalent mathematical repre-sentation tools are selected. Important perception area location algorithm is realized.Radial symmetry point, DoG point and feature point extraction algorithm proposedmulti-scale radial symmetry feature, DoG feature and corner feature extractionalgorithm are realized. Thirdly the advantages and disadvantages of image authen-tication algorithm based on fragile and semi-fragile watermarking are analyzed. Thenimage authentication against JPEG compression is realized. In the the two value isembedded in the carrier image as the semi-fragile watermark, which improve in thetamper localization ability. At the same time image authentication algorithm basedon robust watermarking is researched in view of the shortcoming of the algorithmbased on semi-fragile watermarking with authentication criterion. It improves theauthentication algorithm in the authentication criterion chosen with the robustwatermark of perceptual features. Finally, the characteristics of authenticationalgorithm based on semi-fragile watermark and robust watermark are discussed.Image authentication algorithm based on multiple watermarks is realized with each advantages. The simulation results show that, the image authentication algorithmbased on multiple watermarks outperforms the traditional authentication algorithm. Itreaches the design requirements of this paper with high rate of certification success,strong resistance aginst the operation allowed, high sensitivity to malicious tamperand semantic description of tamper location.
