After decades of the20th century, the development of information technology represented by optical fiber communication has greatly promoted the human to the pace of the information society. At the same time the optical fiber sensing technology with optical fiber and optical fiber communication technology is developed rapidly with the development of the optical fiber sensing technology is a kind of light as the carrier, optical fiber as medium, perception and transmission of external signals of new sensor technology. Extrinsic method in perot (EFPI) optical fiber sensor is the oldest and most mature technology, the application of the most popular a kind of optical fiber sensors. With the application development of fiber optic sensor, the axial and lateral strain characteristics research also gradually become a hot spot, some traditional algorithm of error is bigger, a precise low, have been unable to meet the current optical fiber sensing accuracy requirement. Optimization method based on genetic algorithm is designed in this paper in view of the common algorithm of demodulation error of the large faults, designed mainly to manipulate rather than the parameter coding on the parameters themselves, use more search, the efficiency is very high, directly to the objective function as search information, and USES probability searching technology to get the optimal solution or near optimal solution.In this paper, a genetic algorithm based EFPI fiber optic sensor multiplexing demodulation algorithm, first of EFPI optical fiber sensing technology in the development process are expounded briefly, and the specific examples of application are introduced; Then the EFPI optical fiber sensing technology principle, demodulation, multiplexing technique of EFPI and based on the reuse of account of the principle of demodulation algorithm in detail; Then genetic algorithm is briefly introduced the basic concept, structure, characteristics and advantages, details the design and implementation of genetic algorithm and genetic algorithm in this paper the EFPI fiber optic sensor multiplexing demodulation technology in practical application method; Build the overall framework, the hardware core DSP chip and its peripheral circuit of the hardware structure has carried on the comprehensive design and specification; Through the CCS of DSP development tools for software design, transform the ideas of genetic algorithm in each step to C language program, again to write and debug serialport interrupt program, complete the whole system framework.The genetic algorithm the optimal solution is obtained by MATLAB simulation calculation results are compared with actual DSP system and error analysis, proves that the algorithm is feasibility and superiority of this system, the deficiencies and problems in actual operation of this system are summarized.
