The intelligent video monitoring system has been widely applied to transportation, parks, shopping mall, hotel, banks, warehouses, and other places with high security requirements. It not only makes monitoring staff work easier, but also greatly reduces the false alarms rate ocaused by subjective factors.The key of intelligent video surveillance lies in intelligent recognition algorithm, while pedestrian detection and tracking technology is the core of the algorithm. Therefore, on the basis of pedestrian detection and tracking technology, we select OpenC V as the development tool to implement pedestrian detection, tracking, counting and risk warning in a video segment. The paper mainly talks about the following items:Firstly, we studied the pedestrian detection technology in the intelligent video surveillance system, which is divided into moving object detection and pedestrian recognition. Moving objects detection is obtained by difference with the background. We select Gaussian mixture model to implement background modeling and background updating. For pedestrian recognition, pedestrians are screened from the foreground objects by using pedestrian physical characteristics as well as a low-dimensional soft-output SVM pedestrian classifier. As while as, we continuely process objects stay without clear classification in the support thread module.Then we select CamShift algorithm, which implements tracking by color characteristic and can effectively solve the problem of object deformation. In OpenCV4.0, there is a semi-automatic, single-object CamShift algorithm. In practical applications, we expect to track one or several interested objects, obtain their trajectories, and conduct analysis on the trajectories. Thus, the system implements tracking of multiple objects basing on the semi-automatic, single-target CamShift algorithm. The object trajectories are plotted and stored in a specified folder.At last, we applies pedestrian detection and tracking technology for counting and risk warning. For pedestrian counting, the system gives accurate counting for pedestrian coming from both sides into certain area. For risk warning, the system can realize automatic detection and alarm of abnormal behavior in communities, parks, shopping malls and so on. Experiments indicate that the system has a high recognition accuracy, and can operate in real time.
