Coupled cavity TWT (CCTWT) is an important branch of the TWT. Except thecharacteristics of wide bandwidth and high gain, it also can provide the high outputpower. As the final stage of the microwave power amplifier,these characteristics makeit acquired a wider range of applications.Increasing the output power is one of the main directions about CCTWTdevelopment. This article will research the improvement based on an X-bandhigh-power CCTWT, mainly including how to analyse and discuss the CCTWToscillation suppression and increase electrons through rate.The oscillation of the TWT is an important factor affecting the reliability of itswork. For hughes structure CCTWT, resolving the band edge oscillation and reflectionoscillation is especially important. This article focuses on these two aspects to analyzand discuss.The loss button generates an available loss only in the frequency close to the2Ď€mode, but very minor in the operating frequency band. And the influence for gain andefficiency is reduced in the operating frequency band. This article will analysis thehigh-frequency characteristics and optimize characteristics of the loss buttons by thecomputer CAD technology.This article will analyze the reflection oscillation mechanism, withelectromagnetic software to optimize characteristics of the reflections, saving designand debugging time, to get good results.The works of improving electrons through rate focus on the electron gun and themagnetic focusing system. This article will analyze laminar flow of the electron gunwhich controlled by grids, and optimize the new design of the electron gun withcomputer simulation software. The studies of magnetic focusing system, concentratedin the double-cycle magnetic focusing system, and push it into practice.Finally, the effectiveness of these designs has been verified, after the actualtesting of the CCTWT designed by the principle of this article.
