In underwater acoustic communication field, the spread-spectrum communication hasbeen a very hot subject. With the development of communication technology and computer,the digital signal processing system has used in all fields, then the spread-spectrumcommunication technology based on DSP has become the focus and method of research.Based on the high-performance signal processing chip C6713, this paper design aspread-spectrum communication platform, which has been used to study thespread-spectrum communication technology, such as the cyclic shift keyingspread-spectrum. It has a core processor of C6713for the minimum hardware circuitsystem and has the CPLD which is used to expand the function and control the logic for theexternal expansion circuit backplane. The system has the functions of data collection,transmission, and achieve communication algorithms.Firstly, this paper discusses the feasibility of spread-spectrum communication on thespread-spectrum communication platform and introduce the components and simulation ofdirect sequence spread-spectrum and cyclic shift keying spread-spectrum. Thecharacteristics of the spread-spectrum communication can be got by the simulation results.Then the paper introduces structural characteristics of C6713chip and completes theminimum hardware circuit system and the external expansion circuit backplane accordingto the design requirements of the spread-spectrum communication platform. In thehardware circuit design part, the paper introduce the power module, clock module, resetmodule, memory module, communication module, control logic module and study thekey technologies of the design process of PCB for the hardware circuit. In the softwaredesign part, the paper study the functions of transfering and collectting data.At the end of the paper, it introduces the process of the communication algorithmsbriefly and tests the hardware function of communication system.
