Internationally, the radar test chamber that simulated radar work is used in radar test. Theradar test simulated radar work mode so close that the test data is similar to the radar worksituation very much. There are some similar radar test chambers in our country. But the radartest chamber is only to test the radar in one single case. Domestic radar test is non-workingenvironment test.This paper studied environment and vibration test system in a research institute. The testsystem is unique in China. Environment and vibration test system includes environment andvibration chamber and microwave chamber. The system could overall accurately reflectequipment under test such as radars performance in high temperature, high humidity andstrong vibration environment. Also, the system could still find temporary failure of equipmentunder test. But in the experimental process found that the microwave of leakage strengthenedbecause of multiple reflections in metal environment and vibration chamber, the energy wasstrong enough to influence radars performance, or even damage radars. Using absorbingmaterial was an effective method. So in this paper, through the theory analysis, the softwaresimulation and field measured in the test chamber, the adding absorbing materials could beproved that was a good method to solve the problem. As a result, the best improvement couldbe found. The main work in the paper is three points:(1) Dyadic Green’s functions were used in the part of theory analysis to analysis themethod of calculation of the field in the test chamber and parabolic antenna. Becauseenvironment and vibration chamber is a front open rectangular cavity, its structure is similarto reverberation chamber. So based on reverberation, Dyadic Green’s functions were used inthe part of theory analysis. Contrasting MATLAB calculation and simulation results haveproved the correctness of the calculation method.(2) Based on FEKO the electromagnetic field intensity was simulated. In this paperadding absorbing material in different position was analyzed. In order to improveenvironment and vibration chamber, adding absorbing material was used in this paper. Howto set the parameters of the absorbing material and how to choose the position of theabsorbing material were problems. Finally, the field measured data in the test chamber couldprove the best plan that be found by FEKO to be feasibility. (3) The preferred plan was proved in environment and vibration chamber. This part wasthe test of preferred plan obtained by FEKO. In environment and vibration chamber, theabsorbing material was added as the preferred plan. Then electromagnetic field intensity wasobtained. Contrast the data in environment and vibration chamber and secure radar workvalue, the preferred plan was proved to be accurate.
