This is a software design of the embedded system for underwater targets recognition,which simulates a robot using a low light level camera recognizing targets in the water. Thejob is meaningfull to make a development of the AUV or UUV. The whole system includesthree parts: the Master PC, the PC/104target machine and the display machine. The work ofthe system is as follow: the PC/104target machine receives orders sent by the master PC fromthe network, and decides to start or not, Then the PC/104target machine receives the datawhich contains the information of the underwater low light level image sent by the master PC.The PC/104target machine processes the data, and identifies the objectives from threecandidate objectives (the ball, the ellipsoid and the triangle). At last the PC/104targetmachine sends the data which has been processed to the display machine for image display.In order to simulate the underwater robot working environment accurately, and improvethe real-time and the reliability, we choose the PC/104as the processor, and the VxWorks asthe operating system. According to the special underwater low light image, we design thesoftware of the embedded system for underwater targets recognition in this paper.
