Network covert channel is a branch of information hiding; and its impact on thenetwork security is growing. Most of the existing research on network covert channel isbased on network protocols, which has the shortcoming of having narrow secretcommunication bandwidth and poor confidentiality. Some researchers have proposed anetwork covert channel based on multi-layer protocol, having broaden its secretcommunication bandwidth, but, without improving its safety.This paper proposed a network covert channel based on multi-protocol, by introducingthe thought of frequency hopping--FH-NCC module. It improves the secret communicationsafety, under the premise of ensuring its secret communication bandwidth.This module divide the secret information into several sections, each section is hiddenby the method of network covert channel based on protocol. At the same time, switch thecarrying protocols to hide the next section of information, imitating frequency-hoppingthought. In this paper, secret transport protocol and response mechanism is designed, so thatthe two sides can transfer secret information efficiently; an error control mechanism isdesigned, proving the integrality and correctness of the secret information, achieve thefunction of automatic error detection and error retransmission.Through experiments, the FH-NCC has achieved the anticipation, it improves theconfidentiality and reliability of network covert channel, without affect the networkstatistical characteristics, and has good application value.
