With the application of the Embedded Linux is more and more popular, especially in the field of smart phones in the last two years.The overwhelming advantage of the Embedded Linux kernel for Android smart-phone market share has been stronger than the other systems. Facing the more competitive market in the future, Embedded Linux will be more and more competitive, so its research will become more meaningful.The main research work of this paper is based on the study and research of Embedded Linux, according to the research and design of the mainstream configuration development board on the market at present to understand the characteristics and advantages of the Embedded system, through building the software and hardware development environment, Linux kernel transplantation and Android system transplantation, etc. an Embedded Linux kernel-based Android operating system for smart mobile terminal is implanted.Firstly,from the basic concept of Embedded system, describes the Embedded Linux history, concept, advantages and development trend, for the Embedded Linux have a very intuitive understanding, So as to express the importance and significance of the research. The key technology of Embedded Linux research is the kernel of transplantation and the cutting. We can start the research work of Linux kernel after the Ubuntu virtual machine and board development environment are successfully set up.Secondly,Understand U-Boot startup process stage1and stage2is the key to studying of kernel transplantation, this Linux startup and kernel transplantation process is detailed after the U-Boot research.Thanks to the google launch of android system, Embedded Linux develops very fast, combining with the use of both complement of each other, so that the superiority of the two is more obvious. Therefore, transplantation and application of the Android operating system based on Linux kernel is the focus of this paper. For android operating system transplantation, the works mainly include image files, compile and burn writing, and other technology. Hardware and software can be cut, the research and design of the device driver can be described as an integral part of the Embedded Linux research, this paper will also be related to a specific instance of driving GPIO driver and USB drive to learn more about Embedded Linux and design.Finally, the paper work summarize the research works, also covered the next stage of the research work and direction.
