Visual motion analysis is an important issue in the field of computer vision, whichmainly studies theories and methods of extracting structure, location and motioninformation of the target object from the image sequence. The research method based onoptical flow field is an important way to estimate the motion of image sequence. As animportant part of computer vision, the main function of optical flow field is toreconstruct the motion and structure of three-dimensional object. However, as thelight-flow is too sensitive to the noise, the calculation is also an ill-posed problem.According to the above problems, this paper put forward the calculation theory andmethod research of the line flow field based on the curve of binocular sequence image.Therefore, it not only has great scientific significance, but also has important practicalsignificance in the application field of industry, transportation, military, etc.In this paper, critical contents of curve line flow field, including edge detection,characteristic curve extraction, contour line matching and line flow field calculationwere studied. Binocular sequence image information was used to construct the flowfield of object chine line, which paved the way of the sequence reconstruction of threedimensional object’s motion and structure. This research will be conductive todevelopment of computer vision.First of all, image pretreatment and characteristic curve extraction method werestudied. According to the theoretical requirement of line-flow-field calculation, usingcorner point to paragraph the contour and using piecewise quadratic curve to describesthe edge.Secondly, according to the characteristics of industrial objects are mostly quardricsurface. In this paper, a new curve matching method was put forward to match thecontour curve of sequence image through the invariant of quadric curve. this method canmake quick and effective matching of conicoid contour edge with higher matching accuracy andefficiency.then dynamic programming algorithm was used to make stereo matching of thenearby images contours.In the end, calculation method of curve-flow-field was studied. The paper firstintroduced the definition and calculation method of light-flow-field, and then pointedout its deficiencies to choose an appropriate2D and3D expressive method. The definitions of line flow and line-flow-field were provided as well as the calculationtheory of line-flow-field in the process of motion analysis. Besides, detailed exampleswere given to test and verify it,then analyzed the feasibility of the line-flow-fieldalgorithm.
