Load simulator is a kind of simulation equipment used for simulatingdynamic rudder torque of missiles,aircraft,warships etc caused by air or waterwhen those crafts is sailing. The performance quality of a load simulator determinethe verisimilitude between the simulated torque and the real torque, so it isimportant to develop high performance load simulator.Quite a lot of researchers have done much research on load simulator,because serious excess torque accompany with initiative motion of rudder engine,most of the load simulator research mainly focused on inhibiting the disturbancecaused by excess torque via using new structures or advanced control algorithms.At some point, those methods may have some confined inhibition effects, butbarely there is some methods can perfectly solve the key problem of loadsimulator.Based on some basic theories and some research done by others, thisdissertation will propose to simulate the torque via friction to wipe off excesstorque. To verify the feasibility of this new simulation method, in this dissertationwill do some work as follows:Firstly, after consulting a lot of references and demonstrating repeatedly,determined the basic structure of this load simulator. By means of doing somestatics and kinetics assays for some key parts of this load simulator, reached aconclusion that the structure is feasible.Secondly, due to this load simulator’s structure is different with traditionalones, thereupon the control model of this new load simulator will be different too.So established the control model and then based on the model designed a PIDcontroller and analysis the control performance of the PID controller.Moreover, with consideration of uncertainties and perturbations of this loadsimulator’s Damping Ratio,Spring Rate, Coefficient of Friction and etc, thoseuncertainties and perturbations certainly will disturb the load simulator’s controlperformance. After learned some robust control theory, established this loadsimulator’s robust control model, then designed this control system’s H∞andμrobust controller and analysis H∞andμ controller’s performances respectively.Lastly, developed a set of fixed time interval as0.2ms, windows+RTXelectro-hydraulic load simulator control software to meet the hard real-timecontrol request of this load simulator. After all, based on the status quo of ourlaboratory, did some basic load experiments on the experimental electro-hydraulic load simulator designed before, then reached a conclusion that load via friction isfeasible and can wipe off excess torque.
