The paper takes the flight simulator as researching background and aims toimprove the dynamic tracking accuracy of servo control system. A novel robust perfecttracking controller is proposed and its effectiveness and superiority are verified withnumerous simulations and experiments.First, based on mechanism analysis, the model structure of the flight simulator isderived, and the model parameters are obtained with the least square method. Then, themodel is simplified to facilitate the control design by utilizing the characteristic of thesystem. Furthermore, the systematic uncertainty is deeply analyzed to build somedisturbance models, such as friction model and so on, which establishes the solidfoundation for the following control design.Second, the perfect tracking control (PTC) strategy is introduced as thefeedforward controller to improve the control performance by taking advantage ofmulti-rate sampling control in flight simulator. It is proved theoretically that the perfecttracking performance can be accomplished if the accurate mathematical models and thedesired system states are available.Third, to overcome the disadvantage that PTC is dependent on the accuracy ofmathematical models, the disturbance observer (DOB) is employed to eliminate theexternal disturbance and model perturbation so that the compensated plant is close tothe nominal plant model in the desired frequency range, which can fully strengthen therole of PTC. In addition, the control performance is further enhanced by introducing theseries correction network.At last, the parameters of PTC, DOB and series correction network are specified byusing the proposed method. The results of simulation and experiment indicate that theorganic combination of PTC, DOB and the series correction network, comparing withtraditional control methods, can effectively expand the frequency band of the closed-loop system and greatly promote the ability to follow small-amplitude signal.
