Under the background of faster development of electronization and rapid popularizationof information network, mobile communication has been familiar and widely used, which hasbeen the research hotspots in the area of computer communication science. As the essentialpart of Internet, ad hoc is always one of key projects in academic research for its uniquestructural characteristics and comprehensive uses, which attracts general attention and isapplied in aspects of society as well as its limited number of points, frequent changes intopology with its moving of points, and the guaranty of QoS. How to choose best route toovercome the problems of loading, congestion, and the changes for its dynamic matchedtopology is the most important and difficult point in this area.First, we make a detailed analysis and comparison about multipath routing protocols forAd hoc networks, then minutely describe basic principle and characteristics of AOMDV, pointout that some considerations should be noticed. Meanwhile, The ant colony optimizingalgorithm is also introduced, as a general distributed random optimization method, whosesuperiorities, such as high-stability, nice extensibility and so on, has been largely approvedand accepted by researchers from different professional fields, we can consider the acturalcondition of seeking the best routing in the changing quickly network as an combinationaloptimization problem. Based on the advantages of this algorithm, so this dissertation proposedthe an energy efficient multipath routing protocol in ad hoc based on QoS (ACQ-EAOMDV)with the idea of cross-layer design and loading balancing, which uses FANT and BANT toreplace RREQ and RREP in AOMDV and record the shared network status information fromPhy Layer, MAC and Network Layer to choose the best QoS route. Considering that there is aphenomenon ignored in so many existing improved multipath routing protocols that thepotential usable routes emerge because of the frequent topology changes in real network.ACQ-EAOMDV introduces several mechanisms, such as interference prediction, permissioncontrol, feedback control and enhance control, in order to dynamically perceive the load ofnodes and find the ‘New World’, it not merely can increase the adaptability to load and reducethe frequencies of path discovery while accommodating the topology variation, the SANT,RANT and RMP are designed to update node pheromone table for choosing the optimalizingQoS route dynamically. Finally, we identify the influence on the robustness of the whole network caused by thenumber of ACQ-EAOMDV multipath routing with mathematical modeling at first. ACQ-EAOMDV and AOMDV will be tested on the NS2, compared their’s average end to enddelay, packets loss rate, routing overhead ratio and throughput. The analyses results indicate ACQ-EAOMDV has better performance advantages than AOMDV, and improves the load andcongestion in a large extent, at the same time, extends the life-time of network.
