High-power solid-state slab lasers with compact structure, high stability, highphotoelectric conversion efficiency, high power and excellent beam quality, havebeen widely used in many areas. Compared with the traditional rod medium, the slablaser medium can effectively increase the pumping area and the cooling area,thereby enhancing the energy conversion efficiency and reducing thermal effectssuch as thermal distortion. Slab solid-state laser can obtain better beam quality andhigher average output power than the traditional rod laser.The parallel combination of lasers is a common method to get high power laser.Coherent combinated high-power laser can be achieved by several low-power laserswith completed phase coupling; even in the case of incomplete phase coupling thatincoherent laser can also be obtained.Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) is used to automatically compensate forarbitrary phase aberration. SBS phase correction technology has been widely appliedin the high-energy laser system with the advantages as follows: the structure of SBSpool is simple and the material is cheap; arbitrary phase aberration can be corrected;laser pulse compression characteristics and stability of laser can be enhanced.The main research purposes are to design and develop a water-cooledlamp-pumped radial slabs solid-state laser, study its laser performance of coherenceand incoherence in far field preliminarily, and study the SBS phase correction in thislaser, research radial slab solid-state laser s properties and beam combinations in farfield based on SBS, compare the performance of laser with SBS pool and withoutSBS pool.The thesis is divided into four parts:(1) The development process and application prospects of slab laser issummarized, standards for evaluating beam quality of combination is brieflypresented, synthesized beam diffraction theory and technology of stimulatedBrillouin scattering (SBS) are demonstrated.(2) The simulation of coherent and incoherent combination of radial-slablaser in far field are presented, laser circular array approximated model is proposedfor replacing radial-slab laser, then the theoretical value of far-field spot size, divergence angles and beam propagation factor and other beam quality parametersare researched.(3) We design and fabricate the water-cooled lamp-pumped radial slabssolid-state laser, the initial experiment of output energy and pulse width is carriedout, the combination of beams in far-filed is recorded and analyzed, the we measurethe far field spot size, divergence angle and obtained the BPF by processing thepicture of laser spot, then the experimental results and the theoretical results arecompared.(4) We manufacture a SBS pool and achieve the output of the radial slabssolid-state laser based on SBS, the output energy and pulse width are measured, thefar-field beams are recorded and analyzed, the far field spot size, divergence angleand BPF are carried out, at last we compare the experimental results with SBS andexperimental results without SBS.
