In recent years, the negative refractive media and chiral media ha ve becomehot studies. Although the studies of both media have been carried widely, there islittle research on the combination of these two medi. Therefore, this paper mainlyresearch on the fiber constituted with chiral medium and negative refractive medium,including the fiber with negative refraction cladding and chiral core, and chiral coreand negative refraction cladding.With the field components in negative refraction media and chiral media, wederive the characteristic equations of oscillation modes and surface modes in the twofibers. Tellegen constitutive model of chiral media is used in the all paper. When thechiral parameter become zero, all the characteristic equations can degenerate intothat of ordinary negative refraction fiber.We studied some properties of the two fibers, we give the cut-off conditions,and demonstrate the dispersion the first-order mode. Comparison, the chiral mediain the cladding makes the dispersion curves near the cutoff split, and the split levelincrease with the value of the chiral parameter; the chiral media in the core makesthe dispersion curves away from the cutoff split, and the dispersion curves apptoachtwo different lines. The chiral media in the core and cladding all have little effect onthe surface modes, the dispersion curves of surface modes split hardly, it is veryinteresting.The chiral media in the cladding has little effect on the the polarization in thecore, however, that in the core has large effect on the the polarization in the core andcladding. The energy flux in negative refractive medium obviously is negative. Thechiral medium in the cladding has little effect on the energy flux of surface modesand the even-order oscillation mode, but has a few effect on the energy flux of theodd-order oscillation mode; however, the chiral media in the cladding has someeffect on the energy flux of the oscillation mode, selectively.
