With the social development and the improvement of people’s living standard, higher requirements for medical services are being made; besides, the medicalmonitoring is changing to the remote monitoring from the traditional hospitalmonitoring model. Currently, most of the medical monitoring system relies on PCand large servers and is controlled by means of the traditional client/server (C/S).However, systems of this kind are complex and costly, making promotion andapplication difficult. Therefore, it is practically meaningful to develop a remotemonitoring system of high portability, wide application range and low cost.Considering the shortcomings of the traditional medical monitoring model, Wedeveloped a monitoring system based on embedded Web server. The whole systemmainly includes two parts: the domestic terminal and the monitoring platform.Domestic terminal is for the patients, mainly responsible for the collection andanalyses of user’s physiological data as well as the network communication with themonitoring center. The terminal consists an embedded system and the sensors forcollecting various physiological data. The monitoring platform actually is aninteractive web site, with which registered and authorized custodial staff caninteract to implement the corresponding functions, such as real-time displayingphysiological data, maintaining or upgrading the system and so on.We used the popular ARM9processor LPC3250as a system control chip andconfigured embedded system platform by porting embedded Linux operating system. The system was carried out on the physiological signal acquisition, analysis andprocessing, And by using the embedded Web server GoAhead, The results can bedelivered to the monitoring web pages through the Internet, HTML, CGI and JavaApplet technique was used to implement dynamic web pages on the server.monitoring web pages can display physiological signal waveform, Aberrationanalysis, And manage or download data through the interaction of dynamic webpages and so on.The above-mentioned system uses the reliable ARM9micro-processorLPC3250as a main processor, establishes an embedded development system byporting embedded Linux operating system to collect, analyze and handle the usual physiological data; and by means of the embedded web server GoAhead transmitsthe results to the monitoring web site via the internet. Said web site is developed onthe basis of the dynamic web-site technoloies like HTML, CGI and Java Applet.themonitoring staff can implement the functions like wave display of physiologicaldata, analysis display of the unusual results, client management and downloadingdata, etc.The system test results meet the requirements of the design, the physiologicaldata collected at the front-end realizes a stable signal transmission, real-time datalike ECG, blood pressure and other common physiological signal are processedquickly, and web sites smoothly interacts with the system. This design fully takesadvantage of the features of the embedded system, such as its colorful functions, simple structure and low cost, and successfully realizes the general functionsrequired by the remote medical monitoring. Therefore, this design offers a newdesign method for the design of remote medical monitoring.
