Since the integrated circuits’ s process has already entered the deep sub-micronstage, the traditional design methodology needs corresponding improvement. As atotally new design methodology i.e. NoC (Network-on-Chip) has developed rapidly forthe last decade, its appearance deals with the communications bottleneck caused bySoC’s single bus, however, as SoC’s extension, NoC’s inner interconnects is extremecomplex and the crosstalk caused by electromagnetic coupling between coupledinterconnects is even obvious under high communication speed. We need to researchsome tactics to decrease or aviod crosstalk and some models to evaluate crosstalk. In thecase of high traffic, it’s prone to traffic congestion, we should study some schedules tomatigate congestion. In order to research crosstalk and error tolerance, in this paper, we first constructan NoC platform. With this platform we simulate some performances of it. We also usea system designing language i.e. SystemC to design a novel arbiter and a new routerwhich are based on Packet-priority Round-Robin algorithm and an NoC simulationplatform based on CreditBase flow control tactic, XY routing algorithm,16buffer depth. We give an NoC prototype with Xilinx Virtex-4series FPAGs and list out the synthesiseinformation.Based on focusing at analysis of MAF fault, we first use synopsys softwareHSPICE to simulate MAF model, second we put forward a probabilistic method toestimate the channel’s transmission delay and validate this model with HSPICE. then,we get a conclusion that Hamming algorithm is more advantageous for error tolerancein NoC designing after comparing CRC algorithm and Hamming algorithm’s pros andcons, finally, we design a Hamming encoder and a decoder, add them to the NoCplatform constructed in the Chpter2to simulate whether its function is right or not andthe result shows that functionalities are good. The simulation result indicate that, Hamming algorithm has a considerable effect atNoC’s crosstalk and it has a lower square cost compared with CRC algorithm. In future’s work, we can choose a better algorithm to increase the error correction rate notonly for MAF fault.
