As a human-computer interaction device, whiteboard developed rapidly in the lastten years, which mainly include several types, such as electromagnetic, resistive,ultrasonic, infrared image sensing formula. In addition to the image sensing whiteboard,the rest all have shortcomings of high costs and small area. The infrared camerawhiteboard is a new kind of image sensing whiteboard. Its main advantages are:supporting a larger screen area, faster and more accurate recognition speed, lower-costand simple maintenance of hardware system. Compared with the traditional whiteboardproducts, the research of infrared camera whiteboard is a hot spot of whiteboarddevelopment. The main parameters of infrared camera whiteboard are stability,sensitivity, interface, resolution, accuracy, etc. The main goal of this paper is to improvethese parameters, through algorithms and methods, and accelerate the process of theinfrared camera whiteboard products.To achieve the goal, on the basis of in-depth analysis of image processing, thedesign enhances the accuracy of the target recognition by improving the imageprocessing methods and fast background update algorithm, which makes the stability ofinfrared camera whiteboard better. At the same time, by time interpolation andcoordinate interpolation, it improves the sensitivity of the system. At the last, itdevelops the USB of infrared camera whiteboard, which upgrade the interface of thesystem to USB interface instead of Serial ports. The main content of this paper are:1. Research the noise of image and improve the target recognition method in imageprocessing. In order to achieve the removal of image noise, it uses background updates,and fast background update algorithm, which implements in the ARM processor. So thestability of the system is improved by the methods of image processing.2. The infrared camera whiteboard sensitivity is improved from60points persecond to120points per second, by the two different methods of time interpolation andcoordinate interpolation.3. Complete the development of custom HID device, Multitouch device and mousedevice by USB composite device of infrared camera Whiteboard. Based on custom HID device, the transfer of the system parameters is designed. Using Multitouch and mousedevice, users could manipulate computer easily, which changes the whiteboard planeinto a fully functional computer operating platform. It makes the interaction easierbetween the speaker and the audience of the whiteboard.The research contents of this paper could obviously improve the stability andsensitivity of the infrared camera whiteboard, and make user experience better, whichhas strong significance for the similar product development.
