As the leader of Chinese iron and steel manufacturing industry, Baosteel owns ahighly automated information control system. With an advanced concept of integratedmanagement, Baosteel managed to realize Manufacturing-Marketing Integration byusing information system, which is the basis and guarantee for Baosteel to maintainhigh productivity and high quality in domestic steel manufacturing industry.This thesis is to introduce the design and application of hot rolling MESinformation system in detail. With sufficient investigation of Baosteel productionprocess, according to the user’s actual demands and performance requirements, the.netis priorly chosen as the foreground application development tools and Pro*Cdevelopment software is used as the background which can ensure the efficient runningof the program; the system architecture, which is based on Tuxedo middlewarecomposed of client, middleware, database tier C/S architecture, can perfectly maximizethe server performance. Meanshile, demand analysis has been made on both functionaland non-functional demands. Modular structure is used to establish the following mainmodules: slab management module, project management module, device managementmodule, performance management module, and quality control management module.The background database is the popular ORACLE10g, which guarantees the data’sinstantaneity, scalability, security and reliability. At last, the client system is easy to useand maintain with the application of.net development environment.The hot rolling MES information system is an advanced, practical and efficientsystem designed for actual demands during the process of manufacture. The hot rollingMES information system is combined the hot rolling with steel making technique on thebasis of present computer management system, which realizes the on-site guidance bycomputer in routine work and plays a big role in planning, management, andinformation sharing in particular. On the other hand, this MES system is featured infriendly UI, simplified operation which can help the operators and administrators tomaster the routine manufacture process of Baosteel so that it further reduces the costs ofmanufacture and management, improves Baosteel benefits and market competitivenesswith the elevation of the manufacture plan control, process management, productquality control and informatization management to a brand-new level.
