The use and development of video information are of great significance to thetheoretical research and practical applications because of its effectiveness, immediacyand accuracy. Video communication becomes one of the important measures incommunication due to the increasing maturity of computer network and the thirdgeneration mobile telecommunication technology (3G). However, due to theunavoidable channel transmission errors and the deficiency of highly compressed bitstream, the quality of recovered video plays an important role in the broad applicationof video coding standards. Error concealment arrest extensive attention for its efficiencyin recovering the lost information without bit streams changed.The thesis focuses on error concealment in spatial and temporal,then explores thefollowing based on the current research home and abroad:1.The development of video error concealment technology is introduced. Then thecodec and error resilience of the video coding standard H.264/AVC are Analyzed,2. An adaptive temporal error concealment method based on H.264/AVC isproposed in order to efficiently estimate the lost MVs(motion vectors). The MVs of theneighbor blocks are completely used.It can also adaptively choose different algorithmsto conceal errors according to the division. Experiments show that the visual quality ofcorrupted video is efficiently improved with the proposed method.3.An adaptive spatial error concealment method is Proposed if the missing blocksare located, and the edge of missing blocks could be located by checking finitedifferences with3*3template.In the final part of the thesis, summary is made to conclude the findings of researchand studies, and the direction of future studies in video error concealment technology isalso pointed out.
