Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is a radar system that employsmultiple transmit antennas to send un-coherent signals, and all receive echoesindependently and the perform synthetic processing. The MIMO radar technologyoriginates in the MIMO technique in a wireless communication. In a wirelesscommunication system, MIMO technology is a good solution to the wirelesscommunication channel fading problems, and to increase channel capacity. Because ofthe low power and low probability of intercept of the MIMO radar that also bringschallenges to the domain of ECM.In this paper, firstly, the principles of MIMO radar were presented including thestructure, technical characteristics bistatic MIMO radar signal model was establishedbased on the structure. Secondly, orthogonal waveforms for MIMO radar werediscussed and matched filtering signal processing was performed on MIMO radarsignals on receiving and combined with bistatic MIMO radar signal model. TheMATLAB simulations were also conducted on the target parameter processing. Thirdly,according to the existing the radar reconnaissance intercepted machine technology andtechnical features of MIMO radar signals,the new radar reconnaissance interceptedmachine was proposed for MIMO radar. Finally, the interference strategies of thebistatic MIMO radar were discussed. The MATLAB simulations were conducted onjamming bistatic MIMO radar with the newly developed jamming technologiesincluding digital radio-frequency memory (DRFM) and digital jamming synthesis(DJS).
