Research On Security Access Scheme Of IMS-based Next Generation Convergence Network

The subscriber security access and control has become increasingly significant inthe IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)-based NGCN(Next Generation ConvergenceNetwork) given openness of the its link, personalization and variety of the servicesprovided and the sensibility of information involved in NGCN. Consequently, researchon the access security in NGCN is made in this thesis and an identity authentication andauthorization scheme is proposed considering the specific features in the access domainof NGCN, which guarantees the communication’s safe by providing bothWPKI(Wireless Public Key Infrastructure) and IBE(Identity-Based Encryption)identities to each entity, authorizing every party and negotiating session key. Myachievements and work are as follows:1) The importance of access security and the main security issues present existingin NGCN are analyzed.2) The IMS system and technology, particularly the common access technology ofthe existing fixed, mobile and wireless network is studied, and their defects anddeficiencies are stated, showing that they can hardly be applied into NGCN with morecomplex and diverse environment.3) The identity management technology WPKI and IBE based on WAP(WirelessApplication Protocol)2.0are analyzed and the key management mechanism aboutidentities for authorization detailed described.4) Considering the requirements for NGCN, an identity authentication andauthorization scheme is proposed to ensure the communication’s safe via authenticatingand authorizing each party and negotiating their session key.Finally, it’s proved this identity authentication and authorization scheme is a safeand effective one in access domain for NGCN by analyzing its security, which givesdirective significance for the NGCN’s access security and evolution.
