In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless technology and mobile communication technology, indoor location technology has been caught more and more attention. Traditional indoor location technology such as infrared technology and ultrasonic technology are complex, expensive or having unsatisfactory location accuracy. The RFID technology becomes an excellent candidate for indoor location area because of its advantages such as low-cost, non-contact, non-line-of-sight and high location accuracy. It has been recognized as the most promising application technology of this century, In addition, due to the multipath propagation and random noise interference of complex indoor environment, the high accuracy of indoor location algorithm is particularly important in the design of RFID systems.The main topic of this dissertation is the systemic research for indoor positioning algorithms based on RFID technology, particularly, research for the classical LANDMARC indoor location system and improvements in it. The principal innovation points are as follows:1. This dissertation has improved the original LANDMARC location algorithm. The improved algorithm advanced the reference tags density as well as adjusted the placements of RFID readers. The improved algorithm makes the system location performance become more stable as well as the system location accuracy higher. The improved system is more suitable for the application environments which require higher location accuracy.2. This dissertation has improved the original LANDMARC location algorithm. The improved algorithm increased the partition algorithm. Compared to the original algorithm, the improved algorithm has the function of partition location, which can supply the reference information to the follow-up precise location. At the same time, the improved algorithm can be applied in the scenes which only require the partition location of tracking tags. It has very high application value.3. This dissertation has improved the original LANDMARC location algorithm. The improved algorithm increased the partition algorithm. Compared to the original algorithm, the improved algorithm can eliminate the unnecessary calculating works and lower the computational complexity of system, improve the location performance of system.
