Wireless sensor network as a emerging technology is attached more attention to during the recent years. With low speed and low power consumption as its feature,IEEE802.15.4protocol has great application prospect in smart home,smart building,smart traffic and medical care.CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Mutiple Access with Collision Avoidance)algorithm is one of the core algorithms in MAC(Media Access Control)layer.The performance of CSMA/CA has great effect on the whole WPAN(Wireless Peasonal Aera Network).In this work,CSMA/CA algrithm is analysised with the model of Markov Chain. Based on the analysis on the structure of wireless sensor network node and CSMA/CA algorithm, a solution of realizing CSMA/CA in FPGA is proposed,which can be used in the front-end logical design of related IC.In Chapter1of this work,the background of wireless sensor network and the current satuation of research on it at home and abroad are introduced, and the purpose and target of this work are proposed. Chapter2gives a detail decription on PHY and MAC in IEEE802.15.4portocol,at the end of this chapter introduces the CSMA/CA algorithm which this work is focused on. In Chapter3, a model is set up with Markov Chain to analysis the performance of both slotted and unslotted CSMA/CA algorithm.In Chapter4,based on the analysis on CSMA/CA and the feature of CC2420, a solution of realizing CSMA/CA in FPGA is proposed,and the simulation of the solution is given. Chapter5summarizes the function of and fault remaining in the design,and forecasts the aspects to improve.
