With the development of multimedia applications such as HDTV, people putforward higher requirements for wireless high-speed transmission.60GHz wirelesscommunication technology whose transmission rate can reach1Gbps has receivedextensive attention.60GHz wireless communication technology has severaladvantages such as the strong anti-jamming ability, high speed, small size, confidentiality, and so on. Hence, it has become the first choice for wirelesscommunication system whose transmission rate can reach1Gbps.60GHz wirelesscommunication system has two implementations: the impulse radio scheme andmulti-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing scheme (MB-OFDM). In thispaper, it uses the MB-OFDM scheme to do simulation research on MB-OFDM-60GHz system’s related performance. This paper first introduces the characteristics of60GHz wireless communicationtechnology, application and current standard of60GHz. It imported the OFDMtechnology in60GHz wireless communication system, formed theMB-OFDM-60-GHz wireless communication system, and it introduces the mainMB-OFDM-60GHZ structures. Then it analyzed its signal processing. UnderIEEE802.15.3C channel, it simulates the bit error rate performance ofMB-OFDM-60GHz wireless communication systems, and analysis the3C channelimpulse response, the path loss and time delay distribution. Factors which affected thebit error rate performance are studied, such as protection scheme, the subcarriernumber, interval mapping method, and so on. Finally the peak power ratio (PAPR)problem for MB-OFDM-60GHz wireless communication system is studied, andmainly the PAPR suppression technology is introduced. Then it studies the changeson the PAPR performance and BER performance of the system after one of thetechnology introduced into the system.Based on the channel model given by IEEE802.15.3C, respectively it simulatesthe bit error rate performance of MB-OFDM-60GHz wireless communication systems in the LOS and NLOS situation of household environment. MB-OFDM-60GHzsignals are given in LOS and NLOS case power delay distribution and path loss andbit error rate of the simulation results. Through the study, we found that60GHzsignal was clusters to arrive, and the energy are concentrated,60GHz wirelesscommunication system based on OFDM system can reduce the influence of themultipath effect. In MB-OFDM-60GHz wireless communication system, the guard interval is veryimportant for system design. This paper studies the performance of system based onthe zero prefix interval scheme and the cyclic prefix interval scheme, and studiesother factors affecting the bit error rate performance. From studies we have found thatthe bit error rate performance of system based on the zero prefix interval scheme issimilar to the that based on the cyclic prefix interval scheme. They all can remove theInter-symbol interference when the length of guard interval is greater than a certainlength. When the rate of subcarriers is constant, the less the number of subcarriers, thebetter bit error rate performance of the system. In addition, different ways of mappingcan also affect the bit error rate performance.The60GHz wireless communication system can effectively solve the problem infrequency selective fading and multipath effect in complicated multipath environmentwhen the OFDM technology is introduced. In the same time it can also produce largerpeak power ratio (PAPR) problem. Currently, suppression PAPR main technologiesare Finite amplitude technique, coding technology and scrambling technology.Scrambling technology is more flexible and easy to implement. It is a kind of verypotential and hot PAPR suppression technology. Partial transmit sequence (PTS)method is introduced into the MB-OFDM-60GHz system, and the PAPR performanceand BER performance of system are studied. Through the study we found that theBER performance of system has a certain degree of reduction while it reduce thePAPR when the PTS technology introduced.
