This thesis primarily focuses on the synchronization and control problem of chaotic systems based on backstepping approach. For a class of strict-feedback chaotic systems, based on backstepping method, it makes in-depth in studying synchronization and control of general chaotic systems and hyperchaotic systems. On the basis of theoretical analysis and numerical calculations,the feasible of this method and controller is proved.First, the basic theory about chaos and research background concerning chaotic controlling and synchronization are introduced, the basic idea of backstepping approach is presented, and the significance of this research is demonstrated.Secondly, combining the rationale of the backstepping approach and the stability theory of Lyapunov, it is investigated backstepping method application in the control of chaotic systems. Directing at the controller the general chaos system and hyperchaotic system with determined parameter and indetermined parameter, effectivel controlling over the chaotic systems are realized and the indetermined parameters are identified. Besides it is discussed when the chaotic system is the presence of external disturbances designing the robustness of the controller based on backstepping method. The numerical simulation shows the feasibility and effectiveness of this method to achieve control of chaotic systems and recognition of parameters.Thirdly,it discusses in detail about self-synchronizing and synchronization of different structure problem of chaotic systems based on backstepping method. It is investigated on certain and uncertain parameters chaotic systems and the heterogeneity of different order chaotic systems synchronization based on backstepping method. At this stage, we design the appropriate controller separately in response to synchronization of system and driving system. Moreover, numerical simulation is conducted, so the results of the synchronization of this method can be noted, which verifies the effectiveness of involved controllers.Above all, the investigation results in the control and synchronization of chaotic systems based on backstepping method provide the experiment evidence and the relative theoretical analysis in the aspects of secret communications, it has practical significance.
