The relationship between many things is often fuzzy in the real life, so the analysis of thethings also has a certain ambiguity. In1969, Ruspini introduced fuzzy Set Theory to theclustering analysis for the first time, and proposed the fuzzy clustering analysis. Since then,the fuzzy clustering theory and algorithm has rapidly developed. As one of the methods ofmultivariate statistical analysis, the fuzzy clustering analysis has become an important tool inmodern data analysis.The thesis of the paper focuses on the fuzzy clustering algorithm application to theclassification of Gansu Province agricultural economy. Because the related indexes of theagricultural economy have a certain ambiguity, and the results of the different indexseffecting on the division of the agricultural economic types are different, so the paper usingthe weighted fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm to divide the agricultural economy in GansuProvince to some parts, so that make the result more reliable.The weights is determined by the method of the principal component analysis in the paper,and the Euclidean distance which is in the objective function of the fuzzy c-means clusteringalgorithm is defined by the weighted Euclidean distance, so that the proportion of indexs canbe reflected in agricultural economic development in Gansu Province. The clustering resultsmore correspond with the actual situation of agricultural economic development in GansuProvince.The weighted fuzzy c-means clustering is an unsupervised clustering algorithm, whichneeds to give the fuzzy clustering number beforehand. So according to the actual situation ofthe agricultural economy in Gansu Province, take respectively four kinds of fuzzy clusteringnumber including3,4,5,6to fuzzy cluster, and use a new fuzzy clustering validity index whichis put forward in the fifth chapter to analyses effective. The clustering results showed thatagricultural economic types in Gansu Province are divided into five categories suitablely, thefirst category: Lanzhou City; The second: Jinchang City, Wuwei City, Zhangye City; Thethird: Jiayuguan City, Jiuquan City;The fourth: Tianshui City,Pingliang City, Linxia Zhou,Gannan Zhou; The fifth: Baiyin City, Qingyang City, Dingxi City,Longnan City. Based onthe division, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on the development ofagricultural economy in Gansu Province are provided.
