The rubbing from a stone inscription is a special form of calligraphy work which usually used as a model for calligraphy. During the long history of our country a big number of steles are used to record all kinds of historical events, which are of much useful to make it clear for the history key events during the given time and then they contains much significant for the archaeology which concerns the past events. However, much of these works appeared long long ago and a big part of them have been damaged at different scales due to many factors.For the sake of making people to distinguish the damaged words which sculptured on the stons,this paper has gone through the study on this issue.After scanning the works to the pictures and due to making rubbing from a stone inscription works scanned into image will have a lot of noise patches appeared. In this paper, according to the two-value image’s features, two different closed curve templates will be used on the working that removing the original image’s noise pitches. Skeleton and stroke extraction are done based on the previous studies. Meanwhile, based on the calligraphy in the image, characters’strokes are extracted and the extracted strokes which need to recovery’s end points are marked on which the calibration is needed for recovery of stroke.This paper uses a new method to extract the medial axis of the stone inscription calligraphs which based on the Voronoi diagram of the boundary belongs to the calligraphs. After the restrict analyzing to the characteristics of the Voronoi diagram and the medial axis in the calligraphy characters and considering the procedure of constructing the Voronoi diagram,in which some points and the equinoctial lines associated to the points are used, these points are classified whether conformed to the medial axis or not. And the points suit for medial axis are extracted and added to the collection of the medial axis and finally these points consists of the skeleton of the Chinese character. Also in this paper the recovery of the Chinese character which lost part of the strokes are studied.In the research Voronoi diagram is still used as the frame work of the recovery, and based on this platform the bisectors of the boundary curves are chosen to calculating the center of the curvature which with the radius of the known curves get the points fitted the missed strokes. Every time a new point is generated then a new fictitious curve is formed by the newly point and another existed point next to it which traversed in a given sequence as anti-clockwise. And iteration interpolations is done in the newly formed fictitious curves until the length of the curves are smaller than a small value.
