With the rapid development of the millimeter-wave technology and moderncommunication technology, millimeter-wave communication system is graduallyapplied in many fields such as Satellite communications and military radarcommunication fields, and has great development potential and application value inthese fields. Millimeter-wave high power amplifier is an important part ofmillimeter-wave communication system, its performance has a direct influence on thewhole millimeter-wave communication system. However when the output power ofmillimeter-wave power amplifier increases to a certain extent, the nonlineardistortions will become very strong. The nonlinear distortions has limited the workperformance of millimeter-wave high power amplifier and has bad influence on theapplications of communication system. Therefore this paper has studied thelinearization technology which can compensate the nonlinear distortions of themillimeter-wave high power amplifier, and the main part of the study is the analogpredistortion linearization technology. This main research results of this article are asfollows:On the basis of parallel diode analog predistortion linearization, we havedeveloped a novel millimeter-wave parallel diode analog predistortion linearizer whichcan compensate the nonlinear distortion of Ka-band TWTA. The predistortionlinearizer is well adjustable, its magnitude expansion is more than2.7dB, and phaseexpansion is more than28°in29~31GHz.On the basis of reflection-type predistortive linearization, we have developed anadvanced millimeter-wave reflection-type predistortive linearizer for compensatingthe nonlinear distortion of Ka-band TWTA. The predistortion linearizer has goodperformance of predistortion ability and is well adjustable. It can achieve2.8~10.1dB magnitude expansion and33~110°phase expansion.Adopt the concept of millimeter wave TWTA linearization drive module, andusing the millimeter-wave reflection-type predistortive linearizer as the core to developthe millimeter-wave TWTA linearization driver module. Its magnitude expansion is more than8dB, and phase expansion is more than55°in29~31GHz. The linearizationdriver module has good performance of predistortion ability and high practicability,and it meet the target which we expect.
