As an important part of automobile transmission system,the function ofclutch directly influence the vehicle safety and driving comfort. Clutch qualitytesting includes laboratory bench detection and real vehicle detection. The researchof laboratory bench test takes a long time and the methods are more mature. But theclutch should be removed from the car Thus it brings a lot of inconvenience. Clutchmeasured detection develops in the computer age. It develops very rapidly in recentyears because of simple operation. At present, the real car clutch mechanicalproperties testing relies mainly on the characteristic features related to the position ofthe point as its evaluation basis, this evaluation method failed to make full use of thecharacteristic curve of the given information, which may lead to miscarriage ofjustice. Therefore, it’s very important and urgent to develop an advanced andmultifunctional on-vehicle performance test device, and establish sound evaluationsystem and methods for clutch.The main research contents are:(1)The paper analyzes the structure, working principle and performanceindicators of clutch.(2) Based on the structure analysis of clutch pedal, designs the test device todetect the mechanical property for clutch according to the concrete on-vehicle testcondition, which realizes the synchronization acquisition and real-time display of thedisplacement signals and force signal for clutch. The test system is constituted by aforce transducers, displacement sensors, power circuits, signal conditioning circuits,USB data acquisition card, high configuration composed portable notebookcomputers.(3) Based on the structure analysis and working principle of clutch pedal,proposes a new evaluation method of on-vehicle test for clutch. Through the analysisdiscovered that the algebraic average curve and geometric average curve of trace and return trip of mechanics characteristic branch two sides of non damping curve. Getsnon damping mechanics characteristic curve of clutch through the combiningmethod of test and analysis, and discriminate clutch is qualified or not by comparingthe three curves meet should follow the position relation.(4)On the basis of single data sync collected from force sensor anddisplacement sensor, combined with the new clutch real vehicle testing evaluationmethod, this project design a mechanical characteristic testing instrument forautomobile clutch software, which implements functions, including the analysis ofcollected data and the qualified judgment of tested objects.The test software isdeveloped based on the Visual C++6.0, the main components, including testparameters setting, data acquisition, data processing, qualified determination anddata saving.(5)Using the experimental method to verify the correctness of new clutch realvehicle detection evaluation method and the reliability of mechanical characteristictesting instrument. The system could fully use of the information given by thecharacteristic curve, as a result, this detector greatly reduce the probability ofmisjudgment.
