The visual detection theory comes from computer vision, which is used in dimensions detection.The vision detection technology which has been developed basing on the computer vision theory has the merit of high accuracy,non-contact,and high automation,is being widely applied in the industrial production. It is reasonable to use the vision detection technology in some occasions of high speed detection requirements and harsh environment.The purpose of the research is to establish an embedded real-time glass bottles inspection system basing on FPGA technology, which can achieve the glass bottles diameter measurement. After deep research on key technology relevant to the system and considering of the realistic backgrounds and needs, the vision detection program is developed. The system accomplished the image acquisition and image processing based on FPGA technology with a planar array CMOS image sensor. Considering of the characteristic of real-time detection requirements for glass production line, this paper simulates the actual production line and achieves the experimental platform conveyor and flat backlight, and studied the camera calibration technology at the same time. Under the guidance of instructors, this paper carried out the following research work:1. Make an introduction of the glass bottle vision detection system, and the FPGA technology-based image acquisition and processing system for the overall program is designed, combining with the visual detection technology research status at home and abroad.2. The plane array CMOS image acquisition program is designed, and achieved the initialization and driver control.3. According to the optical characteristics of the workpiece and requirements of on-line detection, the paper achieved the horizontal conveyor experimental platform and LED vision detection backlight.4. After the research of image preprocessing algorithm, the paper proposed a design suitable for hardware implementation of image convolution operation and realized the noise removal of an image, the edge detection algorithm.5. The visual detection of brown mold resistant bottle, for example, the paper make a research on the camera calibration and the bottle diameter measurement, the measurement accuracy of the system can meet the design requirements.
