With the development of communication networks, more and more different kinds of devices are accessing into the networks. Machine to Machine (M2M) networks are constituted by devices with communication capabilities. M2M can provide more comprehensive and convenient services of information gathering, querying and processing, and help people to increase their productivity. Because M2M networks are intelligent and widely distributed, M2M networks have gained attention from both academic and industrial communities.Due to the flexibility and mobility of M2M devices, M2M networks utilize wireless communication methods. M2M networks can be built on different wireless communication technologies.3GPP networks are widely spread communication networks. By building M2M networks on3GPP networks, we can take advantage of the existing infrastructure and save construction cost. The merging of M2M and3GPP networks has been a research hotspot these years. In this paper, we focus on the resource assigning problem in the process of merging M2M and3GPP networks. We first analyze the security vulnerabilities of a communication resource assigning scheme based on M2M group features. Then, we simulate the scheme in untrusted environment, and compare the efficiency of the scheme under different levels of security threat. In closing, we propose a possible improvement on the scheme, which eliminate the impact of untrusted devices and alleviate the information overloading problem.
