The21st century is the age of information, but also the age of the rapid development ofinformation security technology. On one hand, the rapid development of the informationtechnology industry brings people enormous benefits and convenience. On the other hand, we arealso facing a severe test of varieties events of information security being endangered.Highly-piled firewalls, layers of intrusion detection are only passive defense. People graduallybecome aware of that until they solve the security issue of computer terminal, they get rid of thebottleneck of information security. So we must make sure the source information security ofcomputer. And the integrated measures must be taken from the computer chip, the hardwarearchitecture and operating system. So the idea of trusted computing appears.Trusted computing is promoted and developed by the trusted computing group (TCG), cameinto being in the process of development of the information security. Credible is defined as: anentity always acts as expected. Nowadays, the terminal and network security problems haveconstrained the development of information security. Faced of this bottleneck, it is necessary totake the idea of active defense addressing from the bottom of the unrest.The trusted platform control module TPCM is an integrated Trusted Platform hardware coremodule that used to establish and protect the source of trust. It is similar to TPM in its internalstructure, and joined the domestic encryption algorithm and the idea of active measure. It ensurethat the boot code can be trusted when read by platform controller. The credibility at all levels isensured by the chain of trust.In this paper, the main work done are as follows:1) Study the applications and related technologies of trusted computing, analyze the technicalspecifications of trusted platform control module (TPCM), including the main functionalrequirements, architecture and interface communication protocol. Analyze and summarize theresearch and development of trusted computing and trusted hardware module at home andabroad.2) Introduce active measurement and chain of trust, analyze measure process based on TPMand TPCM using formal method. By comparison, we conclude that TPCM do advantages in activemeasurement. Study an improved hybrid trust chain transfer method.3) Proposed the design of TPCM based on the ARM, design ARM+FPGA as core hardwaremodule and design the main system architecture.4) On the design of system architecture, through system-level simulation method, do timingsimulation of interface registers using VHDL language. In Linux virtual trusted environment, test some TPCM commands.
