In the sixties of the last century, the first cochlear implant withsingle-electrode had been produced, after nearly half a century, nowadays, thenumber of electrode has reached22. However, between the implanted electrode,their current will influence each other. So, the number of electrode is limited. Onlywith the22electrodes, people with hearing impairment cannot get a good soundeffects. Since the research of stimulating neural using laser emerged, it gives agood enlightenment to the improvement of stimulus in the cochlear implant. Whenlaser stimulating the auditory nerve, it has a good directivity, the diffusion effectwon’t appear, so, if we choose the laser as the stimuli of cochlear implant, in orderto achieve the purpose of improving listening quality, we can increase the numberof optical fiber. At present, in this research field, there are two foreign researchgroups, so far, because of lacking of an experimental platform, there is no researchon this field in China.This paper needs to set up a complete experimental research platform for themechanism research of optical cochlear implant, it is a preliminary study for theoptical cochlear implant project. Through studying the foreign research status, it isclear that what function should be achieved. It needs to collect the data of ABRsignal, build an optical path that can get pulse laser light, set up a platform ofanimal experiment. According the needs of research on stimulating auditory nerveusing pulse laser, this paper designs a complete set of experimental platform.A data acquisition platform of sound induced ABR signal will be set up,analysis the function goals of this platform, choose equipments of suitableparameters to construct the hardware platform, two pieces of data acquisition cardare the core of hardware platform, one is used to make a click sound, the other isused to collect the data of ABR signal. It discusses the theory of datasynchronization acquisition, and then realizes it through software programmingcontrol. The function of this part is acquiring the ABR signal induced by clicksound.A data acquisition platform of pulse laser induced ABR signal needs to be setup, choose optical equipments of suitable parameters to construct the light path thatcan produce pulse laser. A synchronous signal is got from the light path, accordingto the characteristics of data acquisition cards, it collects the synchronous stimulussignal and ABR signal synchronously, the data needs to be dealed with softwareprogram, then ABR signal can be obtained. The function of this part is acquiringthe ABR signal induced by pulse laser of different parameters. A platform of animal experiment needs to be set up, it chooses the specialinstruments for animal experiment and makes a detailed surgery plan forexperiment, through our own practice, the scheme has been improved. So far, thewhole experimental research platform has been constructed. The animal can beused into study after dealing with this platform.So far, the whole experimental platform is completed, it designs an experimentto test the function of the platform, test results show that functions of theexperimental platform can satisfy the need of optical cochlear project, It is a goodfoundation for future research. This research direction is proposed in China for thefirst time, it will be a good guidance to the development of cochlear implant of ourcountry.
