In recent years, energy has become the development issue in theworld. China’s "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" clear that the establishment of aresource-saving and environment-friendly society is very important to thedevelopment of the country. To achieve this goal, the efforts of all societyshould be made. So, the communications industry, equipmentmanufacturers and operators should proactively respond to the propose of"energy saving" from government, responsive to community "green"trend for the mobile communication network to be a lot of powerconsumption of resources.So this paper’s main research directions andobjectives: through a variety of technical means to reduce the energyconsumption of base station equipment in the Radio Network.By analyzing the energy consumption of the mobile base stationcomponents, examine the current mobile communication network insome intelligent power-saving technology, GSM system main contentsinclude: TRX-based shutdown technology, based on the PA slotsshutdown technologies. TD-SCDMA system in the main contents of thestudy including the baseband board shutdown, RRU radio channelshutdown, idle time slot shutdown the business, BBU automatictemperature control fan, and several other areas. Taking into account theactual network traffic and distribution model to study a variety ofintelligent power-saving technology, energy-saving mechanisms andprinciples, and select various types of typical regional and scenes(including a different location, different traffic load, differentconfigurations, etc.), traffic model different scenarios and comprehensiveconsideration of energy-saving effect. On this basis, considering changes in network quality, energy-saving technology, intelligent analysis of thebase station of the network performance impact. In addition, while theintelligent power-saving mode is turned on, due to the base stationsoftware upgrades caused a network performance measurement of theoriginal report cannot be presented as normal, author developed a set ofnetwork performance analysis system based on VBA.Finally, for the smart power-saving technology in the mobilecommunication network in the practical application of a detailed study,based on the actual situation of the network, a comprehensive assessmentand evaluation of the results of energy saving, energy-saving methods forthe verification of base station and application scenarios, and summarizesthe relevant experience.
