Tianjin University Campus Network was built in1995, which was the firstInternet access unit in Tianjin and invested about20million RMB in succession. Asthe host node of CERNET in Tianjin area and the master node of Tianjin EducationScientific Research Network, Tianjin University Campus Network undertakes the taskof providing the service of CERNET/Internet/CERNET2access for all universities inthe city. Meanwhile, Tianjin University Campus Network is one of the importantnodes of "CERNET2" and the participation unit of "CERNET2" of China "NextGeneration Internet (CNGI) project", a major project in China.With the upgrading and regeneration of Campus Network of "CERNET2" inrecent years, IPv6network in Tianjin University also reached a higher step. The IPv4and IPv6campus backbone network were designed mutually independent and theservice of IPv6provided by the proprietary devices was employed. At present, withthe upgrade item of Tianjin University, IPv6has covered all teaching office buildingsand students’ dormitories in the whole school. After few years’ operation, theresource and the flow of IPv6have been increased and its importance has been moreclosed to IPv4. Therefore, new requirements have been put forward for themanagement and the security of IPv6network. The topic design can improve thesecurity of IPv6network from multiple levels including access, core, node andbackbone. This design improved the management and monitoring strength of CampusNetwork. Our university will construct a new campus soon and this topic will play aguide role for the construction of Campus Network in the new campus.
