In recent years, the robot technology is developing very fast, various uses of robotsare widely applied in various fields. Meanwhile, welding technology also won the rapiddevelopment, particularly the development of robotic welding more rapidly.Welding robot is an important tool to improve work efficiency, welding quality, aswell as improving the working environment of workers, Therefore, it plays an increasinglyimportant role and used more and more widely in modern welding industry. The bodystructure of the welding robot, joint reducer and welding precision have been researchedin this paper. The main completed work is as follow:According to the welding robot’s work objects, welding tasks and performancerequirements, it determines the link parameters of the welding robot to refer to weldingrobot’s advanced products at home and abroad, as well as application of bionics. and then,the body structure1ayout and the whole transmission system are designed.The welding robot’s mechanical body design is completed, Through robot’s staticanalysis, the joint servo motors、timing belt and other transmission parts are choosedreasonably. Harmonic reducers are designed, and the specific connection form of a typicaljoint is analyzed.The model of welding robot is imported into the finite element analysis softwareANSYS from PROE, and use it to do the modal analysis of welding robot model, for itsnatural frequency. And then, it is used to work to avoid resonance, as well as provides atheoretical basis for the later structural optimization.The precision of the welding robot is designed. Firstly, using the differentialtransformation method to establish the error model of the welding robot, and then analyzesthe error sensitivity of each joint, Finally, the precision synthesis of expression based onthe manufacturing tolerances、assembly errors and other errors is bulit.
