Video conferencing system has brought convenience to our lives. It provideslong-distance and real-time exchange of information, convenience for people to collaborativework and a lot of time and money savings for the enterprise. Remote control of videoconferencing is the video conferencing access to users. It directly impact on the quality ofvideo conferencing to carry out. How to design a convenient, easy to use and friendly remotecontrol is a problem worthy of study. To achieve cross-platform remote control that allowsusers to save money and escape the hardware limitations of the remote control, and increasethe flexibility of the remote control, is the key to achieve a convenient and easy-to-use remotecontrol. Using a wireless network as a communication medium is also a great help to achievethis goal. With the increasingly high demand, remote control should also make full use ofmodular design to extend the system at any time. The remote control should also provideusers with a friendly visual interface.This paper choose Qt cross-platform development framework as a development base.According to the needs of remote video conferencing, remote control system has a modularframe design, and does specific implementation and coding on the base of the differencesbetween the platforms. So it has solved the problems which may bring from the platformdifferences. In order to solve the drawbacks of traditional remote control, remote control ofthis paper use the wireless network to communicate and provide a visual userinterface. Finally, in order to facilitate the users to carry out video conferencing, remotecontrol also implements two meetings extended functionality: simulate mouse and remotewake-up.This paper has achieved the various functional modules of the remote control. User canlogin through network, get meeting information and do all the main functions by remotecontrol. And the most important feature is that the remote control has a cross-platformfeatures. It can be used well on the embedded Linux platform as well as PC platforms, such asLinux and Windows. Remote control of this article has been used on the CoolView videoconferencing systems to provide users with convenient, efficient and reliable control service,with good practical significance.
