Lifelong education and lifelong learning are key approaches to the sustainable development of countries, communities and individuals. Lifelong education is the fusion rather than the simply addition of pedagogy and andragogy. We believe that the development of parents and teachers is helpful to children. Their growth can be viewed as a whole factor which will lead to a learning society.If teachers keep long-term, regular, planned and aimed interaction with parents, they can get full support from parents and fullfil their professional development. Meanwhile, parents will know what happened in the school and how to educate their children. Thus the force of school education and family education will be enhanced.The study views the sixth grade of Shanghai H Middle School as a case, and is conducted in documentary method, questionnaire method, interview method and observation method. The aim of this article is to show the situational status of parent-teacher interaction, analysis the obstacles of the interaction, and find some suggestions to facilitate the interaction.The study showed that parents and teachers had different understanding, cognition and attitude before the interaction, which caused some conflicts during their interaction and different feelings and gains after the interaction. By analyzing data and records, I found the three main obstacles of parent-teacher interaction:their different understanding of parent’s role, different status during the interaction, and different cultural background.On the basis of research conclusion, this article discussed several suggestions for facilitating parent-teacher interaction. Parents should re-recognize their role, pay close attention to children and interact with teachers proactively and responsively. Teachers should have clear idea of modern communication and reasonably arrange the place and seats before interaction so that parents will feel comfortable and equal. In addition, school counselor is a helpful bridge between parents and teachers.
