A Study On The Status Quo Of Cultivation Of National Spirit Among University Students And Relevant Implementation Path Against The Background Of Construction Of National Cultural Soft Power

In this age of globalization, the competition among nations has moved from hard power to soft power. Countries in this world have gradually realized the importance of cultural soft power to national interests. Under such circumstance, there has been a great change in the role and status of social environment, cultural background and university students. Therefore, many new problems and challenges have come out in terms of ideological and political education. The national spirit is an indispensible part of cultural soft power. It is the lifeblood of a nation and the engine to motivate ethnic unity and national prosperity. Moreover, it is also closely related to the survival and development of each nation as well as their competition of comprehensive strength. As a special social group, university students touch on the future of national development. In this case, how to strengthen the Chinese national spirit, with patriotism as the core, have become major topics of ideological and political education in collages and universities.At present, there is fierce competition among international communities in terms of soft power. Our country face three major strategic tasks:advancing the construction of socialist modernization, achieving the Chinese nation’s bright prospect on the road to revival and safeguarding world peace and promoting common development. Under such circumstances, this thesis is intended to study the cultivation of national spirit among university students and its existing problems by adopting attributive analysis method. Besides, the thesis will offer suggestions accordingly from the aspect of nation, society, university and undergraduate students, with the aim to improve the comprehensive quality of university students and promote their all-round development as well as further enhance the soft power in our nation. This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical basis which gives definitions about cultivation of national spirit among university students and puts forward research value. The second part makes a systematic analysis about the existing problems in the process of cultivating. The part also forms the theoretical basis of this thesis. The third part focuses on the thorough analysis of the existing problems and offers reasons accordingly. This part is also the key to the thesis. The forth part relates to the exploration of solutions, aiming to improve students’ quality, boost the construction of national soft power and advance national soft power. Since this thesis adopts a novel view to make systematic study on the cultivation of national spirit, it has practical significance to promote the development and progress of our nation, social stability and solidarity as well as overall development of university students.
