| This essay starts from proposing the concept of community, and then expands on discussing the ideas of learning community and such organization in classroom. Then the foundation of learning community is thoroughly interpreted. Afterwards, the characteristics and principles of learning community in classroom are presented in conclusion.This research is based on a national program, the Cultivation of Scientific Thinking Skills in Quality Education and the Construction of Experiment School in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, consists of16units including various aspects which affecting students’ scientific thinking growth. The author raised a seven-step procedure of building learning community, and randomly chose class one of grade three and grade four as experimental classes from No. One Primary School of Tongxin, Ningxia. Learning community was constructed and experimentalized in these two classes for nine weeks during each semester and the whole experiment lasted for two semesters in total. Besides continuous practicing teaching activities, questionnaire survey and interview have been conducted to collect relative research data and to verify and analyze the significance of learning community. In the end, the result of this research presents a number of beneficial influences through the feedback of interviews and surveys. First of all, immersing in learning community can stimulate students’ interests towards study. Secondly, students are also provided with more opportunities to think deeply and express themselves in class to other participants. Thirdly, the proactive interaction between students throughout the whole process assists them to foster a close relationship. Finally, students have also been positively affected on their learning results.The significance of this study is that it makes a breakthrough on the domestic study in this field. The previous studies only discuss literature, focus on individual cases and lacks of continuity and validity. Also this study makes effort to answer questions about how to construct a classroom learning community and test the hypothesis of effectiveness on the results generated by learning community. Hence, this research can be referred in guiding teacher exploring and teaching in respective field. |
