The meaning of mathematical thinking education is to cultivate the consciousness of the quality of look the nature of problems; and to cultivate good habits of thinking, form good thinking strategies, enhance a person’s ability to respond to. The seventh stage of compulsory education is the key stage of forming students’algebraic thinking and develop the students’ algebraic thinking is particularly important to their after mathematics learning.However, grade7students are not to be smoothly from arithmetic to algebraic thinking, what kind of obstacles they will encounter during the transition stage, and what kind of help can teachers give is worthy of our attention and research. The existing research shows that symbol sense and abstract thinking ability is the important factors in students’ thinking mode transition phase, the teacher has an important influence on the development of students’ algebraic thinking at the same time.This paper aim at the development situation of grade7students’algebraic thinking, combined with domestic and foreign research results, investigate and analysis the differences of grade7students in the process of forming algebraic thinking. The results of the survey shows that grade7students in the process of form algebraic thinking, has significant gender differences in analogy thinking ability; and the overall development of algebraic thinking has significant regional differences.With the developing differences above, the paper gives four suggestions:(1) Promote the connection between the arithmetic and algebra, lead students transform arithmetic to algebraic thinking smoothly;(2) Pay attention to the development of students’ thinking, follow the differences between students according to their aptitude;(3) Promote the teacher’s own mathematical knowledge, and deep understanding of the essence of algebra and infiltration in teaching, also they should pay attention to students’ different learning styles, then adopt corresponding teaching methods;(4) Promote the regional communication, the information age we can’t be stuck in the past, to strengthen learning communication in different areas, especially the communication between teachers will help the development of teachers and students.
