Research has clearly indicated that cooperative language learning is a vital educational method in recent years. The purpose of this study is to explore how do the key schools teachers in Beijing use the cooperative language learning in real English class. And when they tend to use cooperative language learning in class, what effects will most probably come into being. As a result, the aim of this study can be conclude as3parts:I. How much do teachers use cooperative language learning in class? And what types?II. Why do they choose to use or not to use cooperative learning tasks? Why do they use these types of cooperative learning activities in class?III. What do the students and teachers feel about using cooperative language learning activities in class?The study yielded3major findings through the obtained data:Firstly, the teachers in key school show their favor to use cooperative language learning in class. The reason is that cooperative language learning is good for almost all students in both their academic and psychological development. The types of cooperative language learning activities are based on what the learning contents are. But mostly are mixed types.Secondly, the students in key school also appreciate cooperative language learning. The reason is that they feel less stressful in class and it improves their skills of oral, information searching, cooperating, writing, observation and analysis and problem solving.Thirdly, there are some requirements for both the teachers and the students in order to form a successful cooperative language learning class. As for the teachers, they should have a clear mind and a clear understanding of what they teach; hold a clear mind of the conception of CLL; form a clear-cut division of labor; give supervision and follow-up guidance; practice appropriate activities and give suitable reward and appreciation to all students. As for the students, they should actively and willingly open their mouth to communicate with their group members.
