The Research On Cai Yuanpei’s Management Of Study Style In Peking University

Study style is the soul of a university, good study style is an important guarantee for the existence of a university. The Ministry of Education, university administrators and scholars have pointed out the problems of study style in university, and this highlights the importance of the management of study style in university. During the time that Cai Yuanpei was in charge of Peking University, his successful torsion of the study style in Peking University became world-famous. Although it’s far from now, problems of study style in nowadays’university have many things in common with the problems at that time. So it’s quite worthy to explore the idea and acts of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. This paper regards Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University as the object of researching based on the concept of study style in a narrow sense, tries to dig the idea and acts of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. And attempts to summarize his successful experience, looks forward to provide experience for the management of study style in nowadays’university. There are six parts in this paper.Part of introduction, it explains the reason of choosing this study, defines the concept of related words,finishes the literature review of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University, and points out the specific researching clue and methods.The first part of the text, it introduces the background of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University mainly in three aspects. The first is that Cai Yuanpei becomes the president of Peking University. Then it’s about the social background. The last is the situation of study style in Peking University before Cai Yuanpei became the president of it.The second part of the text, it explores and analyze the idea of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. He has his own core idea of management. By careful analyzing of the documents, it’s found that there are two core concepts. The first one is that regarding the goal of university as the basis. The second is to emphasize the aim of studying in university.The third part of the text, it summarizes the measures of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. Cai Yuanpei has been the president of Peking University for more than ten years, and actually he stayed in university and work there for more than only five years. According to narrow concept of study style, Cai Yuanpei’s measures can be explored from five parts, they are goal of studying, method of studying, interests of studying, atmosphere of studying and discipline of studying.The fourth part of the text, it analyzes the enlightenment of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. It analyzes the same problems of study style in universities today and Peking University at that time, and explores the quintessence of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University. By combining the problems in nowadays’ university with the development of nowadays’society, tries to find the enlightenment of Cai Yuanpei’s successful experience.The epilogue, it emphasizes the contemporary value of Cai Yuanpei’s management of study style in Peking University, and concludes the core of his management is his understanding of the essence of university. He thinks that university is the place of researching for profound knowledge.
