| The Olympic Games is one of the most important event in the world volleyball games and theOlympicwomen volleyball competition attracts attention from every countries’ volleyballteams. At the30th London Olympic Games, the United States and Brazil respectively won thegold and silver medal, Japan and South Korea ranked third and fourth and China just rankedfifth. Rise of South Korea and Japan announce new hegemony in Asia.Chinese womenvolleyball team hasn’t had a good performance since it won the third place atthe2008Beijing Olympic Games and the historic reversal continues. Winning the10th gradeis its worst performance since1974. At the2011womenvolleyball World Cup in Japan, it gotthe access to the selected qualification of the London Olympics, but did not continue the goodperformance at the London Olympic Games and lost the chance for being the four strongestteam at the games.China, Japan, South Korea are well known for their women volleyball teams and their teamsare thought asthe three strongest among the Asian women volleyball teams. This paperanalyses the tactics characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the Asian and Europeanwomen volleyballs at the London Olympic games in order to finding the reasons for losingthe games and exploring developing direction for Chinese women volleyball team.Through the methods of literature, video statistics, mathematical statistics and other researchmethods, the paper compared Asian women volleyball teams’ performance at the LondonOlympic Games, and the following conclusions were found:1Among the non-technical factors, the average age of Chinese womenvolleyball team hadsignificant difference from the European teams’. There was no significant difference betweenJapanese and South Korea teams.2In the service of technical factors, South Korea’s and Chinese women volleyballteamswere better than the European and American teams, but lower in broken attack rate. Inreceiving turnovers, Japanese women volleyball team was better than the European andAmerican teams. So it was been concluded that Asian womenvolleyball teams were morebetter in serve receiving technology and the overall effect.3In blocking,Japanese women volleyball team wasthe best among Asian teams and also better than the European and American teams. But for defensive effect, Chinese and southKorean’s womenvolleyball teams were lower than the European and American teams, sodefensive ability needs to improve for these teams.4In spiking effect, Japanese womenvolleyball team was better but lower than the UnitedStates women volleyball team. Chinese and south Korean’s womenvolleyball team had poorperformance both in the storm and spiking effect.5Through the statistical data and video analysis,it could be found that Asian womenvolleyball team, especially represented by the Japanese women volleyball team, mainlykeptadvantages in defense, and strengthened the initiative attack ability. European and theUnited States women volleyball teams were better in the powerful storm advantageandattacking ability to destroy other teams’ defense. |
