The report of the16thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China furtherregards it as one of the goals of building a well-off society to improve the health of the wholenation and form a relatively complete national fitness system. Continual emphasis has beenlaid on “carrying out extensive national fitness programs” and “vigorous national fitnessprograms” in the17thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China and the FifthPlenum of it. Social sports guidance stations, a branch of social sports guidance center, is themass sports organization to implement national fitness scheme and the power to achieve thediverse development of nationwide fitness service system. As a basic unit of mass sportsactivities, the development of social sports guidance stations is related to the progress of thefitness career in our country. And how to make it function better and to achieve sustainableand healthy development, is the contents of the sports researchers that can’t be ignored.From the perspective of group relevance in sociology, taking sports guidance stations inShijiazhuang as a whole, the research, from micro to macro, systematically analysizes thedimensions of the sports community, its essential characteristics, its functions, itsdevelopment and other issues through bibliography, questionnaires, logical induction.Starting from the group dimension of Shijiazhuang sports guidance stations, from the sexratio, age distribution, timing selection, site selection, knowledge and ability, the researchsummarizes its essential characteristics, that is, goal commonness of group members, relativeindependence of groups, group consciousness of members, organic combination of groups. Atthe same time, the research induces its functions into two aspects: one is to fulfill the task oforganization, including exploiting sports facilities, constructing mass sports fitnessorganizations, encouraging members to do sports activities, teaching fitness methods,conveying fitness information; the other is to satisfy the diverse needs of group members,including their needs of fitness, psychology, social adaptability and morality.Finally, the research offers some suggestions in response to the current weaknesses ofsocial sports guidance stations.
