The history of mathematics and mathematics education has become one of the hot research topics in the international circle. Since the19th century, researches of Western mathematician in this field have gained a lot of concern. The research in China started quite late, but it has become a development trend. Some theoretical studies pay attention to the influence of history of mathematics on mathematics education. Its importance has been realized,"taking history as a mirror, make the past serve the present, make foreign things serve China".HPM mainly focuses on the history of mathematics and mathematics education. The educational value of mathematics history has been theoretically recognized, however,"high value, low use" is the true portrayal of history of mathematics in teaching practice. What are the factors that cause the mismatch of assessment and application? These factors make the combination of mathematics history and classroom teaching a controversial and challenging topic. How to change the mismatch of assessment and application and give play to the educational value of mathematics history is a subject that subsequent researchers should pay more attention to. This paper aims to promote the influence that mathematics history has on mathematics education, which is the key concern of HPM. By referring to many literatures at home and abroad, with present research results as the starting point, this paper gives a detailed analysis of two versions of high school textbooks and their history of mathematics. To perceive influencing factors, explore ways and means to solve problems, deepen the influence of mathematics history on mathematics education, provide ideas for high school mathematics teaching and reference for high school mathematics teaching research and teaching development from the perspective of HPM.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part: Introduction. Summary of background, purpose and significance of the research, and research problem and methods. The second part: Literature review. Summary of domestic and foreign research from the perspective of HPM, and the study point of this paper. The third part:Research design. Three theories applied to the study of mathematics history:the historical genetic principle,"recreation" theory and occurrence of teaching method. Based on the version A of PEP and the version of BNUP, which are compulsory high school mathematics textbooks, to display the combination of mathematics history into mathematics teaching, and present the research framework and data analysis methods. The fourth part: Statistics and analysis. Through the comparison of different dimensions of the content and statistical data, refine the characteristics of the two versions of textbooks and distribute them in the form of chart. Test the two textbooks from multi-dimensions (Chi-square test and Fisher exact test), explore their status and differences, and find the factors influencing the mismatch of assessment and application of of mathematics history. The fifth part: Conclusion. Summarize the main research results of this paper, discuss the matching strategies of assessment and application of mathematics history, and give suggestions for solving the problem and implications for future research.
