Illegal Marriage Immigration In The Border Regions Between China And Myanmar

The intermarriage between China and Myanmar border has a long history of hundreds of years. But since the1980s, the intermarriage phenomenon has changed. Illegal marriage immigrats have many new features now:significant geographical features、low rates of marriage procedure、unique sex ratio and migration direction、 increase and expand year by year、significant feature of ethnic intermarriage、Poor personal condition of marriage immigrants. Most of these marriages are traditional.The marriage immigrants always marry at a very young age and tend to have extra children.There are very complicated reasons,include not only the special geographical environment and convenient transportation, but also political、economical、cultural、 ethnic and legal factors. Compensatory marriage is also one of the reasons.A series of problems caused by illegal marriage immigrats, in addition to the illegal marriage immigrats’ personal security and identity dilemma, children’s survival, the local population security、health security and border security have also been affected.The ultimate goal of this paper is to promote the standardized management of marriage by analysing the features、reasons and solutions of illegal marriage immigrants.To achieve this goal, we should strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between China and Myanmar and adjust the relevant laws and policies of intermarriage.The cooperation among the different departments and the education of the immigrants are very important,too. And we can also make the full use of China-ASEAN cooperation platform.
